5th Grade Unit on Bones and Joints
One of best ways to appreciate something you have is to lose it for a little while. Fifth grade students are currently working through a unit on bones and joints. To better understand the uses of specific joints, students used tape and sticks to immobilize specific joints and then attempted basic tasks. From coloring pictures to picking up beans, students agreed that losing thumb and index finger joints caused many more problems than they had anticipated.
