Testimonials
This was addressed to Mr. Lesley, our Middle School Principal.
Mr. Lesley, I am sure that you already know this but I just wanted to reiterate that you have "collected" a wonderful Middle School staff. We have had teachers in the past that I thought were irreplaceable but of course; with God's hand nothing is impossible. The academic standard in the 7th and 8th grade is incredible and I know that the students are well prepared for the next level. What impresses me most after being on the "other side" is each teacher's ability to really teach and do it with enthusiasm and true interest in the subject and student. When you are able to teach Algebra and the kids are excited, you know that you have something special going on. If Sara has a question she has no problem with any teacher feeling like she can ask for help. I am thankful for your leadership and example and our family has been truly blessed to be a part of this school. Cindy Forrester, MRCA parent
Last night my wife and I were talking about how perfect T1 has been for Braxton. It has been everything we had hoped for and more. Mark and Karen Harris, MRCA parents
I went to Mitchell Road Christian Academy from 4th through 8th grade many years ago. I learned some very good principles and doctrines there that will follow me throughout my life. MRCA was a great support to what my parents were teaching me at home. Former MRCA student
We have been amazed by the way MRCA teachers consider the unique personality of our son. His teacher (Denise Lesiak, K4) is helping our son see his strengths as God-given and learn to work through his particular challenges. We are so grateful that she and Mrs. Kelly are enhancing our efforts to rear him in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. What a blessing! Mark and Kristi Reed, MRCA parents
Shaler is our only child and God spoke to our family about a Christian education for her and we obeyed his command. Our experience at MRCA has far exceeded any expectations her father and I may have had. I know and thank God daily when I leave the car drop off line at MRCA for his blessing on allowing Shaler to be at this school. What she is learning academically is amazing to watch and what she is gaining spiritually daily is heartwarming for a parent. The safe, loving, respectful (from the other students) environment you feel each time you are on the campus at MRCA is a great feeling for any parent. Brentley Reeves, MRCA parent
Good luck and God bless. Thank you so much for the wonderful experience. We are still so pleased and miss MRCA everyday (especially prayer in the classroom). Parent of a MRCA graduate
We are forever grateful to God and all of you that our children had the privilege of attending MRCA. They have been prepared spiritually and academically beyond our expectations. My oldest child has been accepted into an Honors College Program. My other child is in all Honors classes and one AP class in high school as a freshman. I am convinced MRCA gave them a great advantage academically to reach their potential and strive for excellence. That motivation has kept them going on the right track through high school and I feel confident it will continue in college. Thank you! Parent of a MRCA graduate
Thanks for all you do -- it has been the best money we have ever spent!! Parent of a MRCA graduate
Because of the vast amount of time a child spends at school and the significant influence teachers and other adults there exert on the lives of young people, we feel that choosing where a child will be educated is one the most important of our parental decisions. With this in mind and with the full knowledge that there are few certainties in life, we have chosen Mitchell Road Christian Academy. We trust the commitment, character and skill of the people with whom our child comes in contact; and without exception, we have felt supported as parents. In a world in which families are often unstable and values are routinely questioned, MRCA provides a secure environment with challenging instruction and continuous opportunities to learn, to grow in the Christian faith, and to have lots of fun with other students whose families share our values. Whether a child attends MRCA briefly or for all of the kindergarten through eighth grade years, we feel that being part of the school community is an invaluable experience, and we are grateful for the contribution that MRCA has made to our family. I am a public school teacher so my husband and I were conflicted at first in making our decision to pull our kids out of public school and enroll them at MRCA. While we had complete confidence in the teachers at the school where they were previously enrolled, there were more and more incidences of our kids being exposed to situations that we were uncomfortable with. We were unsure if we could afford to move all three of them and made the decision to just move our two youngest. When our family visited the school on "Open House" day, our oldest, then a rising 6th grader, was so impressed that he too wanted to attend MRCA. We prayed and felt that God was leading us to put all of our kids at MRCA. We have been so pleased with our experience at MRCA. We have never feared what our kids were being exposed to at school or for their physical safety. They have all grown beyond our expectations academically and spiritually. We have found the curriculum to be rigorous, the teachers to be top-notch and the administration to be supportive. God has blessed us and has provided for us financially. You can't put a price on a quality Christian education. Our children are worth it and we wouldn't have them anywhere other than MRCA. Lisa Cook, MRCA parent
While some schools may sport spiffy new structures, MRCA excels in matters of the heart, mind, body and soul. Having attended open houses, end of year awards days, visited campus during the day, conferenced with teachers and admin, been involved with projects, helped with test study and extracurricular activities on and off campus I have been most impressed with the quality of the dedicated teachers, support staff and administration. We have two children at MRCA, a 6th grader and a 7th grader. They both sense a comraderie with their classmates, caring from their teachers, and enjoyment from the many things they have done such as Spirit Week, Retreats, Service Projects, Intramurals, Athletics, and Skate Night. They have opportunity for a first rate education, and to gain a biblical perspective on how to live and apply their learning to real life.
What initially attracted us to MRCA 3 years ago was the fact that those families whom we knew at MRCA were those whom we respected and recognized as people of integrity and Godly character. The reputation of MRCA in the community, both the faculty/staff and the students graduated and now attending other schools is also excellent. Our oldest daughter who is a Senior a RHS says that everyone she has known at school or church that graduated from MRCA are the "smart, good kids." We believe that the investment made to be "Big on Learning and Strong in Spirit" is worth the price. We are proud to be Eagles. Ben Howell, MRCA parent
Overall, we feel MRCA is a tremendous foundation for our girls' education; especially in the middle school years. Our experience from public middle school to MRCA middle school has been incomparable. We can see a major difference in the preparation for high school and even into college. It is not only what they learn in the classroom but the expectations from the teacher, striving for excellence in all areas, respect for authority and biblical grace/truth from each and every teacher. MRCA is such a blessing to us that any sacrifice we have made to be there has been well worth it. Mary and Joseph Daum, MRCA parents
"I have had my child at MRCA for 4 years. I never really thought about putting him in a Christian school because like most people I went to public school and thought when I had children that is just what I would do. I put my son in the K4 3-day program at MRCA just to "get his feet wet" before kindergarten. Needless to say I was so touched by his experience and the Christian love and teaching there that we decided to keep him there. Each day is an affirmation that we made the right choice. This year was a hard year as my child started 1st grade and had to get used to an 8-3 pm day. The first part of the year was rough. Each day started with tears and "mommy can you home school me?" My heart was being pulled, as every parent knows, as your children "leave a little bit at a time." Our children are given to us by God for a short time and it is our job to show them the way to become faithful men and women in Christ. Each day is a challenge. One day early in his 1st grade year, an especially hard day for him, the school called me to say my child wanted to come home. He was crying and I could not come right away to get him. Thankfully I had a dear mother-in-law that could. She told me about what happened next. The Spirit of God was present there. Beth Kinzer, the Elementary School Principal, came to the office and saw David. She picked him up and hugged him. Then she brought him to her office and talked with him then prayed with him when I could not. He went back to class and stayed the rest of the day. Each day became easier for him AND ME. Knowing he is surrounded by people who love the Lord and LIVE the Lord is all a Christian parent wants for their child. We are touched each day more and more with our experience at MRCA. God is present there. My child (and 2nd child soon) is and will be learning not only exceptional academics which are vital to his success, but Christ-like character and faith that will be his foundation of strength for the rest of his life." So many times in our lives we hear something positive about someone else, but fail to pass on words of encouragement for each other. MRCA received a call from a Middle School parent this week with the most uplifting words of praise for our very own "Mr. Myburgh". She said Mr. Myburgh is "Awesome" in my opinion. He has made my daughter love Math. So many times I see him tutoring students after class and/or after school for free. He really does care that our students get Math. He is a "Gift" to MRCA. We have 3 girls at MRCA now, and we began our journey there in the Fall of 2001. And that is what it has been .. a "journey". My husband and I have learned so much, and our girls have grown beyond what words can describe. This school is a true blessing and ministry to children in their day to day lives. We love the size of the school, the faculty is very personable and is always willing to make your child happy while achieving their best in classes, sports but most of all... that they know our GOD. My husband and I had an experience with our oldest daughter who repeated the 5th grade several years ago, and she had a challenging year in many ways, and the faculty helped us through it and prayed for us, AND WITH US, and did not judge us in our decision. They simply supported us, helped us through it and gave our daughter encouragement..... and to this day she beams with happiness.
It is a joy to get up during the week and know your children are going to a place where people give encouragement, welcome you, show appreciation, pray for you, make you feel as though you belong, create joy and fun within the school, give guidance, show compassion, cherish our children, know how to measure success, spread kindness, set an example for other schools, connect with our kids, want to make a difference in the community, want to correct the wrongs, will share a smile.... and I could go on and on... but most of all... this school... embraces the good there is in this world and gives it to the children and helps them to see that God has given them life... and that they should embrace THAT and give back to GOD and live for HIM.
In this very stressful and sometimes unkind world we live in, ..... Michael and I thank you for all you are to our girls.... we count our blessings for MRCA.... Debbie Kiriakides, MRCA parent
Mitchell Road Christian Academy has been a tremendous blessing to our family. Our son suffered a serious accident in the summer before entering third grade. The outpouring of support and prayers that we received from the school staff and school families was incredible. We saw the love of Christ shine through them. They lifted us up in prayer and gave us encouragement during a very difficult time in our lives. We feel that they are truly an extension of our family. It is a school that not only excels in academic excellence but also instills a love of Christ through outreach and service to others. Beth and Jeff Ware, MRCA parents
