After-School Programs

Mitchell Road Christian Academy’s Extended Day Eaglets (EDE) and After Care Eagles (ACE) programs are designed to provide families with a safe, caring, and engaging after-school experience that extends the learning and nurturing environment of the school day.  Staffed by dedicated caregivers, both programs offer students meaningful opportunities to play, socialize, rest, and participate in age-appropriate activities in a structured and supportive setting.  Available on all full school days throughout the school year, these programs help meet the needs of working parents while ensuring that students continue to feel secure, valued, and connected to their school community.

The Extended Day Eaglets (EDE) program serves students in K3 and K4 and is thoughtfully designed to support the developmental needs of young children.  Following lunch, students enjoy time for outdoor play and physical activity when weather permits, allowing them to build friendships and develop social skills in a fun environment.  A rest period provides an opportunity for children to recharge, followed by a variety of enriching indoor experiences such as learning centers, games, educational programming, creative play, and age-appropriate movies.  The program balances recreation, relaxation, and exploration, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere where young learners can thrive beyond the classroom.

The After Care Eagles (ACE) program serves students in Kindergarten through 8th grade and provides a dynamic environment that encourages both recreation and community.  Students have opportunities to enjoy outdoor play, participate in organized and independent activities, and spend time with friends in a supervised setting.  A daily snack helps students refuel after a busy school day, while a variety of indoor games, activities, and special events keep afternoons engaging and enjoyable.  A favorite tradition of the program is Friday Movie Day, when students gather to enjoy a family-friendly film together.  Through a combination of active play, social interaction, and structured supervision, ACE provides students with a positive and enjoyable extension of their school day while giving parents peace of mind.
