As students move into 1st - 4th grade, the educational focus shifts from teaching students the skills to read, write, and calculate to equipping the students with tools to apply newly mastered skills as independent thinkers who are responsible for their own learning and accomplishments.  Language Arts instruction further solidifies the mechanics of language as students read and write increasingly complex texts.  Mathematics instruction focuses on building accuracy and fluency in mathematical computation for the purpose of problem solving.  Inquiry Based Learning Units in Science and Social Studies cause the students to think deeply about the world God created and the role of America as “One Nation, Under God”. Students think critically to identify problems and develop solutions, a trait that benefits them in every area of life – academically, relationally, emotionally, and spiritually.
