Ordering Lunch

All ordering is done first thing in the morning as students arrive in their homeroom classes.  All orders need to be placed by 8:45 am (9:45 am on Thursday).  If your child will be late to school and wants to order lunch, please notify the receptionist or the lunchroom director before 9:00 am to place their order. If an order is placed after 9 am, we cannot guarantee its availability.

Heat Ups

If a student brings food to be heated for lunch, he/she will place it in the heat up container in their homeroom at the beginning of the school day.  Please send food in small plastic or glass containers that are no taller than 5 inches.  Foil is also a good option.  Plastic baggies are not recommended.  All items must be labeled with the student’s first and last name, grade, and teacher’s name.  Computer printed address labels and paint pens work well.  Please do not send any food that requires preparation. We do not microwave or heat up items individually. All heat-ups are placed in the warming oven by 9 am and will remain there until your child’s lunch period.

Snacks and Drinks

The lunchroom has a variety of snacks and drinks available for students to purchase. In addition to the regular offerings available to all students, middle schoolers also can purchase ice cream at lunch time. Effort has been made to provide healthy options, but there are also some more indulgent options as well.  Please take this opportunity to talk with your child about healthy food choices, portion control, budgeting, and self-control. Lunchroom employees and volunteers are unable to monitor and/or limit what your child orders at lunchtime. You can view your child’s lunchroom purchase history in FACTS.

Lunch Vendors

A different lunch vendor is designated for each day of the week.  A menu can be found on both the MRCA website and MRCA app. Additionally, we always provide alternative lunch options (corndogs, Lunchables) if your child forgets to bring a lunch or order in the mornings. We also provide a variety of fruit, chips, and drinks that are always available for purchase.

Lunch Accounts

Each family has a lunch account, which can be viewed in FACTS.  A debit or credit card can be used in FACTS to deposit money into the lunch account.  Check or cash may be sent in with your student to be turned in to their teacher who then sends it to the lunchroom.  All money should be in an envelope labeled with the student’s first and last name.  Lunch balances can be viewed in FACTS.  Negative and zero balance email notifications are automatically generated weekly.
